The people of Malverns Hills have provided an extraordinary response to the appeal by the Foodbank for extra food, non-food and Christmas items which ran in the Malvern Gazette and on our Facebook page. In just one collection from Waitrose there were 6 full size trolley loads, 3 times the usual amount; students at The Chase School ran a “Reverse Advent Calendar” and donated over 200kg; and numerous groups and individuals brought their donations to the warehouse in Spring Lane South. Volunteers worked extra shifts to process all the items and prepared 70 Christmas boxes with both staple and seasonal items to help local people in need enjoy a better festive period. Thank you so much to all of you who helped in any way. Let us hope that 2018 sees better times.
