The Trussell Trust runs the largest network of foodbanks in the UK, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis. Thirteen million people live below the poverty line and in the last year we gave 1,332,952 three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.
Volunteers at Malvern Hills Foodbank were recently delighted to receive a prize-winning donation.
Ian Drewe of the European Caravan Club, contacted the foodbank concerning their recent photo competition. The winner, Hugh O’Donnell, had asked that his prize of an M&S voucher be used to buy items for MHFB. So Mr. Drewe, armed with a list of shortages from the foodbank website, took himself off on a shopping trip and spent the voucher on a selection of food, personal hygiene products and household cleaning materials.
He then delivered these personally, where more than 23kg of goods were accepted by grateful volunteers. Big thanks to Hugh, Ian and to Marks and Spencer.
