Demand Doubles in Two Years

8th November 2020

In the year ending 30th September 2020 Malvern Hills Foodbank provided a record 3,420 food parcels to local people in crisis. This is almost 900 more than in the previous year and more than double the amount distributed in 2017 – 2018. We also distributed over 8,000kg of food to local charities, including Maggs Day Centre, The Octagon Centre and Upton upon Severn Baptist Church; this was 20% of the total distribution of 44,000kg. None of this would have been possible without the continuing support of the people of Malvern Hills, who have met this demand through increased donations via local churches, supermarkets and direct including cash donations which we use to buy in items in short supply.
